What's Wrong with Leicester?

I have been supporting #LeicesterCity for more years than I care to mention but I like many other regular City fans reckon we can spot when all is not well at our club.

We have gone from a methodical slow passing football team under #Puel who play out from the back, patiently passing the ball from side to side and back again waiting until the opposition either gives up or drops dead! To a side under #Rodgers that injects pace when it is needed, makes quick incisive decisions, plays bright one two's to move the ball and take out the opposition, presses the ball high up the pitch and attacks and defends as a team. This approach has served us well up until Christmas, but since then it' all gone pear shaped. So what could be causing it.

Here are my theories: -

1. The two semi final games against #Villa where we did everything but score and win and were wrongly denied a stone wall penalty has crushed the confidence of all the young players, who had their hearts set on a #Wembley #CupFinal appearance, and that will take some rebuilding.

2. The reported approach for #Rodgers from #Arsenal has unsettled the squad, particularly the younger ones who thought he was here for the long haul to build something really specially.

3. Opposition teams having now played us at least once have again sussed us out and sit deeper to nullify #Vardy and we have no plan B to counter that. #Rodgers is trying different formations including two DCM's and two up top, a midfield diamond but none are these working. We brought a defender in the transfer window when we were all crying out for a winger, who plays in back 3 but we not seen that formation deployed too often.

4. Our home form is usually good and we pick a lot of points from our home games. Games behind closed doors with no fans have nullified this and every game is like a game at an neutral venue so we cannot expect to win just because we are playing at the King Power

.

With only 4 wins in the last 14 league games we are going to be very lucky to hold onto a #ChampionsLeague place. #Chelsea #ManUtd and #Wolves all look stronger after the #lockdown break . Perhaps #ManCity will get banned and that will throw us a life line, but the best we can hope for is to limp over the line. A better bet might be the #FACup and my hope now is that #Chelsea concentrate on the top 4 and don't take the #FACup too seriously!
